This year marks the highly anticipated return of Rob Lee's Rudy's Midnight Machine, one of the solo projects from one-half of Faze Action. While the project has previously dazzled us with shimmering EPs rich in Balearic warmth and laid-back vibes, Mistral is the first full-length album to emerge—and it's well worth the wait.

The journey begins with Les Voiles, a breezy jazz-funk gem that blends European jazz sensibilities with slap-bass boogie disco and hazy Balearic keyboards. Elsewhere, Kori Kori nods to North African influences, Light Room drifts into poolside jazz, and Foxtrot brings engaging melodic disco. The album paints vivid scenes of endless coastal summers, closing with an instrumental reprise of the opening track—a perfectly bookended listen.
